Dr Melissa has undergone advanced training and higher qualifications in soft tissue surgery, ultrasound, emergency medicine and endocrinology, and has over 10 years of experience caring for pets, from the entirely straight-forward cases to the more complex. 

Melissa treats all dog breeds (and cats!), but has a particular interest in the health and welfare of brachycephalic dog breeds. Good communication is at the heart of her approach, so that you are able to make the best, most informed choices for your pet or breeding program. 

Dr Melissa Kozaruk is passionate about bettering the lives of pets with brachycephaly and has undergone extensive further training and research to be able to offer the most up-to-date veterinary advice and surgical treatments for HER brachycephalic patients. 

Dr Melissa is based on the Central Coast, NSW and is offering telemedicine, in-person consultations and surgical treatment of conditions commonly seen in brachycephalic breeds including:

Dr Melissa is available for veterinary consults and surgery at Erina Heights Vet Hospital, Central Coast NSW. 

TELE-CONSULTS

Dr Melissa offers tele-consults to owners of pets located in NSW Australia. If you are unable to attend an in-person consult due to distance, or want some general pet advice, Melissa can consult with you via phone or video.

Tele-consults can be useful for addressing:

  • Questions about BOAS surgery and other health conditions for brachycephalic dog breeds

  • Pre-purchase advice before buying a puppy

  • Post surgery follow up

Please note that for pets that require emergency or urgent veterinary treatment, tele-consults are not suitable and you should contact your nearest veterinarian for advice.

Medication can not be prescribed via these consultations.

Dr Melissa is a tutor and webinar moderator for Vet Education, providing the latest and most up to date continuing education to veterinary professionals.
